Spice Mix
  • 1 tablespoon Chili powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt

  1. Combine chili powder, garlic powder, and salt in a small bowl.
  2. Rub tilapia with the spice mix.
  3. Add oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the tilapia and cook until done flipping once, about 4-7 minutes depending on the thickness of your fillets. The fish is finished if it flakes when you lightly press it with a fork.
  4. Serve with lime, a green salad, rice, and asparagus or green beans.

Notes

When you fry fish, it is advisable to keep it out of the refrigerator for 10-15 minutes so that the temperature in the pan does not change when it is cooked.
Fry the fish with the side that did not have skin on first.
