Ingredients
Method
Cook the shrimp:
- Season the shrimp with salt, pepper, and half the red pepper flakes.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Spray with cooking spray.
- Add the seasoned shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they turn pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
Make the Sauce:
- In the same skillet, spray with cooking spray.
- Add minced garlic and chopped onion. Sauté until the onion is softened and the garlic is fragrant, about 2-3 minutes.
- Stir in the red pepper flakes and cook for another minute.
- Pour in diced tomato, Italian seasoning, and broth, stirring to combine.
- Bring the sauce to a simmer and let it cook for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly.
- Once the sauce has thickened, return the cooked shrimp to the skillet. Toss the shrimp in the sauce until they are well coated.
- Allow the shrimp to simmer in the sauce for an additional 2-3 minutes to absorb the flavors.
Serve:
- Serve the Shrimp Fra Diavolo over cooked pasta of your choice.
- Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
