Pear & Cardamom Oatmeal

I love cardamom. Growing up my grandma would make the most wonderful cardamom buns. This got me thinking, would the same spices work in my morning oatmeal? Oh Yes!

Ingredients
  

  • 40 gram Rolled oats 150 calories
  • 2 gram Ginger root 2 calories
  • 0.25 teaspoon Cardamom 2 calories
  • 90 gram Pear 52 calories

Method
 

  1. Grate the ginger and grate or chop the pear.
  2. Combine oats, cardamom, ginger, and pear in a saucepan or microwave-safe bowl

Notes

Enjoy it cold for a pudding-like consistency.
Serve with your favorite toppings such as walnuts, banana, peanut butter, and fresh berries like strawberries, or raspberries.
Cardamom is a very powerful spice. Some might find the flavor overwhelming or soap-like if you use too much so you might want to start out with 1/8th of a teaspoon and work your way up.
