Tofu Burger

Tofu Burger

Ingredients
  

  • 133 gram Tofu Extra Firm
  • 36 gram Onion
  • 20 gram Celery
  • 20 gram Red bell pepper
  • 8 gram Cornstarch
  • 6 gram Chipotle Pepper In Adobo Sauce

Method
 

  1. Press the tofu to make sure that you drain all the water from it
  2. Chop onion, carrots, chipotle peppers, and bell pepper into small dices
  3. Crumble the tofu into a bowl. Mix in the vegetables, cornstarch, and spices
  4. Form into two patties, I like to use a 4 oz patty maker for this.
  5. Set the patties in the fridge to chill for 30 minutes, it is not necessary but they are easier to handle after they have been chilled
Pan-fry or oven-bake the burger:
    Pan-fry
    1. Cook in a pan on medium-high heat until golden. About 5-6 minutes on each side. 
    Oven-bake
    1. Heat oven to 350 F, place patties on a parchment-covered baking sheet, and bake for 30 minutes. 
    2. Serve with your favorite burger toppings.
